I was married this Memorial Day Weekend, Sunday May 25th, 2008. At 32 years old and a bridesmaid 5 times over, I had finally met Mr. Right. After all this time, I had many friends anxious to lend their expertise to help us with our 300 guest wedding. Our friend Lori had designed and created the flowers for two other coworkers weddings. She jumped at the chance to lend a hand. We purchased 1000 roses in 6 shades of pink and cream, lots of Leather Leaf and Tree Fern, and 3 shades of Hypericum Berries from Fifty Flowers. The flowers arrived in great condition. I was in charge of cooling the house to help the buds stay tightly closed and cutting and placing all of the stems in water. Here is a great tip: Have friends save cat litter containers and place the flowers in those when they arrive. The containers are tall enough to keep the roses standing straight and can hold about 4 dozen roses. Lori, my friend Stephanie, and I worked diligently to create 35 table centerpieces, 25 boutonnieres, 6 bouquets, cake flowers, and 5 other large arrangements.
