Savannah Soiree

My husband and I haven't had the conventional engagement, nor marriage. Right after he popped the question, he joined the Army. We got legally married in a courthouse three days before he left for boot camp and then spent almost two years flying back and forth from Pennsylvania to Georgia to see each other. Don't get me wrong, I loved our courthouse wedding but ever since I was a little girl I've dreamt of a big day, a white gown, and walking down the aisle with my dad.

Once we were finally together and settled in Georgia, the planning began. We planned this wedding in six months! During that time we also bought a house, Sean was deployed for the first time, I was working 40+ hours a week AND we had a puppy! Not to mention, all of my family and friends were back in Pennsylvania. It was A LOT. But so incredibly worth it. So many people who attended the wedding told me that they had never seen a bride and groom so happy. And after I was told that so frequently, thought, "That's probably why my cheeks hurt!"

I did a ton of smiling that day.

In all reality, my dreams didn't do this day justice. It was perfect. Unconventional. And I got to "re-marry" my soul mate, all the while, checking off those boxes that little girl from years ago dreamt up. How great is that?

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0568/1083/1962/collections/beuatiful-high-quality-roses-cc2f659.jpg?v=1657070089
